Whole exon sequencing (WES) performs in-depth sequencing of functional exon regions, which can greatly reduce the cost and analysis time, and achieve the purpose of detecting functional gene mutations. Although the coverage is relatively small compared to WGS, it is a more economical way to discover the base mutation variants in the gene regions.
